What we do

We deliver innovative and challenging learning programmes for children, young people and adult learners. Although the Centre has a broad range of programmes and initiatives, the main focus is on raising levels of both literacy and numeracy using the stadium as the classroom.

We work with schools and education providers to design packages to support the needs of identified groups of all ages and abilities. Most of our packages focus on supporting schools with the delivery of the national curriculum specialising in English and Maths and the development of employability skills. In addition to this we also work with a range of special needs schools and adult learners.

"The children had a great time and barely even noticed they were doing English and Maths due to the engaging nature of the activities and environment."

Lucy Chambers, St George’s Primary School

Run With It provides real contexts for learning, which include new reasons for writing and opportunities to use maths.

Examples of these functional ways to learn include the following ideas:

Interviews with Hull FC and Hull City players

Photography and movie making sessions in our ICT Suite

Area and perimeter using the KCOM Stadium pitch

Numeracy and Literacy hunts within the stands

Match report writing in the press and media suites

Focussed maths activities in the club shops

Speaking and listening exercises with Humberside Police in the prison
